The Carlos Mozer Collection

All items have been curated directly from a close relative of former Brazilian international defender - Carlos Mozer.

José Carlos Nepomuceno Mozer - a retired Brazilian central defender renowned for his club success in Brazil, Portugal, France and Japan, and for representing Brazil internationally.

Mozer began his senior club career at Flamengo (1980–1987), helping them win major honours including the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup in 1981.

He then moved to Benfica in Portugal (first spell 1987-89), establishing himself as a key figure in defence and contributing to their success in the Primeira Liga. In 1989 he transferred to Olympique de Marseille, where over three seasons he helped the club secure three consecutive French league titles. Mozer returned to Benfica (1992-95) before finishing his career with a stint in Japan at Kashima Antlers.

Internationally, Mozer earned 32 caps for Brazil between 1983 and 1994. He played in the 1983 Copa América (runner-up) and in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He sadly missed the 1994 World Cup due to illness.

After retiring as a player, Mozer went on to a managerial career, coaching clubs in Angola (Interclube), Morocco (Raja Casablanca) and Portugal (Naval, Portimonense).
