Notable players during this time included Johan Cruyff, Johan Neeskens, Ruud Krol, Rob Rensenbrink, Wim Jansen, Arie Haan and the van de Kerkhof twins - Rene and Willy.

Shirt features number style only worn by the Dutch in the qualification campaign and after the World Cup. The Oranje changed to block numbers for the World Cup finals.

Long-sleeved player shirt not commercially available. Made in West Germany. Believed to be matchworn by the Under-23/youth team during this period (including the likes of Martin Jol, Ernie Brandts and Michel van de Korput) as the #10 at the time for the senior squad (Rene van de Kerkhof) was sponsored by Puma and wore the 'two-stripe' Adidas shirts line Johan Cruyff.
